Andrea Efthymiou

Andrea Efthymiou is a dedicated clinical psychologist who has experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare, education, and private practice settings. She has trained extensively in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for a wide range of referral questions.

Broadly, Andrea has specialised training in the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan, including autism and ADHD, and the careful differentiation of these conditions from other mood, trauma, or personality presentations. She also routinely assesses cognitive (e.g., intellectual disability, giftedness), and academic concerns (e.g., specific learning disorders) for all ages. Regarding psycholegal referrals, Andrea conducts adult pre-sentencing and mental health diversion (e,g, Section 14) assessments for a range of offending types.

In her therapeutic work, Andrea takes a formulation-driven approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to support both adolescents and adults. She is particularly passionate about developing a shared understanding with her clients about what is happening for them, and she enjoys helping clients to shift unhelpful habits and find the way of living that works best for them. Andrea has experience adapting psychological interventions for neurodivergent individuals. With training from the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, Andrea has a specific interest in the treatment of sleep difficulties and their interaction with comorbid challenges such as anxiety, perfectionism, substance use, trauma, depression, and emotional dysregulation.

Andrea is available for face-to-face and telehealth appointments on Thursdays.
