Carolina is a clinical and forensic psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology obtained from the University of Denver, USA. She is a member of the Australian Psychology Society.
Carolina has extensive experience providing psychological assessment and treatment services in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology. She has worked across multiple settings, including academic medicine, hospitals, community mental health, residential, outpatient community forensic services, corrections (county jails and women’s correctional facility in Colorado), and forensic private practice. In the forensic domain, she has experience in evaluations in criminal, family and domestic, and civil courts. She has also provided offence-specific individual and group therapy.
Clinically, she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with various presenting problems and with complex needs and trauma presentations. Her clinical approach is collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed, and she draws upon a range of evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, functional analytic psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and emotionally focused family therapy), to which she is trained.
Carolina has given professional presentations in the areas of forensic psychology (i.e., fire setting) and child and adolescent psychology.
