Intan is a Clinical Psychologist and holds the Doctor of Clinical Psychology/Master of Science degrees from the University of Sydney. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor, who has supervised Provisional Psychologists on placement during their higher degree program, and Registered Psychologists engaging in the registrar program.
Intan has over twelve years of experience working in the public sector assessing and treating adult offenders in custodial and community settings. Much of her career has been spent leading the clinical team that provides psychological assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for high-risk violent offenders at Long Bay Correctional Centre. Intan has extensive experience providing advice and case consultation to government agencies and statutory authorities on complex cases of offending. She also has experience working with clients who have intellectual disabilities and other cognitive impairments. Intan has facilitated hostage negotiation training for correctional officers in partnership with the Corrective Services NSW Security Operations Group (SOG), and she has held a Conjoint Lecturer position in the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales. Intan also has private practice experience providing evidence-based individual treatment for people experiencing a range of presentations including mood disorders, substance abuse, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, stress management, relationship difficulties and anger management.
More recently, Intan completed a 12-month secondment at the NSW Coroners Court, managing the team that deliver specialised support to families and providing advice to the coroners on complex and special interest matters. Intan is currently completing a law degree at the University of Sydney.
